Latest wave of Unreal Dev Grants gives two mobile developers a share of $275,000

Epic Games has doled out the latest round of its Unreal Dev Grants with a total $275,000 being awarded to a range of projects.

The grants are part of a $5 million initiative established by Epic Games to help fund developers using its Unreal Engine. It claims that the funding is "no strings attached".

Mobile game developer One Dream is a recipient of this round to continue development on its game Be:Brave. It is a 3D action-adventure title currently being developed for Android and iOS.

Fund 'em all

Korean developer Playearth also received funding for its upcoming Project EX. Little is known about the game aside from its stated goal of pushing the boundaries of mobile graphics.

A total of 17 projects were awarded funding, including PC and console games, VR titles, films and technology. The full list can be found on Epic Games' website.

Epic Games didn't reveal how much its grants were worth to each developer, but $275,000 between 17 projects is an average of around $16,000 each.

This might not be far off the actual figure – back in May 2015, Get Set Games was awarded an $18,000 grant from the Unreal Dev Grants project.
