Vietnamese mobile and online games publisher VNG considers US IPO

Vietnamese mobile and online gaming company VNG Corp has signed a preliminary agreement with the Nasdaq to explore an initial public offering in the US, according to Reuters.

The tech firm operates in a number of areas including mobile messaging apps, social networking, e-commerce, music streaming, video streaming and other software.

Its mobile games include Dead Target: Zombie, Dead Warfare: Zombie, World Cup Run and more.

No other specifics on the potential IPO were provided.

According to Newzoo, mobile revenues for the entire Southeast Asia region will reach $1.4 billion in 2017, coming mainly from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

2016 mobile game revenues for Vietnam were said to have reached $136 million.
