Game Insight's Guns of Boom shoots past five million downloads in two weeks

Game Insight's multiplayer FPS Guns of Boom has surpassed five million downloads just two weeks after it first launched worldwide.

The game is maintaining a five-star rating on iOS and has received over 100,000 five-star reviews on Google Play. It has also had 30,000 YouTube videos and numerous streams made using the game.

Guns of Boom has also received its first major update with a new game mode, Capture the Point, which will be released soon. Game Insight said it will continue to support the title with further updates in the future.

Taking time

"Companies have been trying to develop quality first-person shooters on mobile for years now, but with so many variables it’s almost inevitable that something goes wrong," said Anatoly Ropotov, CEO of Game Insight.

"With Guns of Boom we took our time to consider what players really wanted in a mobile shooter, and we found the answer in quick matches, team-based competition, and controls that seamlessly make you feel like a part of the action."

While it's known for its mobile games, Game Insight has also heavily invested in HTML5 and the Facebook Instant Games platform. It invested $5 million into a division dedicated to developing for the platform back in November 2016.
