SpecialEffect aims to raise £100,000 with One Special Day fundraiser on September 29th

SpecialEffect is calling on the games industry to help support its upcoming One Special Day fundraising initiative on September 29th.

The organisation has already brought on board the likes of EA, Sega, First Touch, Twitch, Yogscast, Seriously and others.

It hopes to raise £100,000 from the scheme. Games industry partners can support the initiative by donating 100% of sales from the day, providing exclusive auction items, placing titles for a special Humble Bundle sale and holding fundraising events.

2016's One Special Day fundraiser raised an impressive £90,000.

All money will go toward helping severely disable people of all ages play video games.

Good cause

“One Special Day is a key event in the SpecialEffect fundraising calendar,” said SpecialEffect’s Fundraiser Nick Streeter.

“It’s a day when the games industry can get behind us and celebrate another year of us helping make their video games accessible to people of all abilities and ages.

“The success of One Special Day is particularly important in light of larger, non-gaming charities seeking support for their work from the gaming community and games industry. As the gamers’ charity we’re looking to inspire the industry to rally to our cause and support disabled gamers in the UK and all across the globe.”

You can find more details about One Special Day on the official website.
