Summoners War hits lifetime revenues of $890 million as it surpasses 80 million downloads

Com2uS' flagship title Summoners War has now surpassed $890 million in lifetime revenues and 80 million downloads worldwide.

The game has seen a surge of interest across the globe, jumping up to number five on the App Store top grossing charts in the US. It also took second place in Canada, tenth in the UK, fifth in Australia, sixth in New Zealand, and seventh in Italy.

To celebrate the milestone, Com2uS will be holding a Lucky Slot event in the game, awarding players with numerous in-game items. The event will run from now until July 22nd 2017.

Pressing on

Com2uS recently began its push to make Summoners War an eSport with a live tournament broadcast on Twitch. The broadcast saw a peak of 35,000 concurrent viewers, the fifth-highest viewership on Twitch for that day.

While it isn't an insignificant amount, the revenue milestone falls a little short of Com2uS' predictions in its Q1 FY17 financials. Summoners War had been expected to surpass $1 billion in lifetime revenues by June 2017.

The developer will continue to push the Summoners War brand through a new spin-off MMO expected to launch in 2018. It is also exploring other avenues of revenue, including animation and movies.
