Eden Games partners with Microids to bring Gear.Club to Nintendo Switch

Eden Games has partnered with publisher Microids to bring its mobile racing game Gear.Club to Nintendo's Switch.

The new version of the game, dubbed Gear.Club Unlimited, is due to release on the Switch in Q4 2017. Eden Games has released a teaser trailer for the new title.

As in the mobile and Apple TV game, players will buy and race real-life cars across numerous tracks. Cars can also be upgraded and customised to the player's specification.

How to pay?

It is currently free-to-play on mobile and Apple TV, but it is unclear whether Eden Games will refit the monetisation and turn it into a premium game for its console release.

Gear.Club found some success on mobile, achieving one million downloads just five days after it was launched. It was also originally self-published by the developer.

It is not the first mobile game to make the leap to the Switch. Rhythm game VOEZ was a launch title on the console, which began life as a free-to-play mobile game before launching with a mid-tier premium price tag on Nintendo's latest console.
