Wargaming Mobile has acquired Denmark-based casual games developer Hapti.co for an undisclosed sum.

Hapti.co is a former subsidiary of IO Interactive, the developer behind the Hitman series. It has been rebranded as Wargaming Copenhagen, and will work on both new projects and live ops for existing games.

The developer is headed up by Rune Vendler, who previously held roles at Lionhead Studios and IO Interactive. He has been with Hapti.co since 2010.

Perfect match

"The guys at Hapti.co were a perfect match for Wargaming's mobile endeavors," said Keith Kawahata, Head of Wargaming Mobile.

"They have the expertise from working in the industry for years, a solid games portfolio that have cemented them in the market, and the ambition and drive to go from strength to strength as Wargaming Copenhagen."

Wargaming Mobile was officially established in June 2017. As well as adapting its PC games to mobile, it also offers a publishing program to help other mobile developers.
