Harmonix suffers another round of layoffs affecting 14 jobs

Harmonix has suffered another round of layoffs that has reportedly affected 14 of its staff from departments across the company.

As reported by Gamasutra, the developer will continue to work on its Rock Band series and phygital game DropMix, as well as other unannounced projects. DropMix was released less than a month ago in the US.

A difficult decision

A statement from Harmonix states that the layoffs were made "to reduce our overhead and align our business with our current development slate."

“This was a difficult decision and we're grateful to our friends and former colleagues for their many contributions. We're working to ensure that they're taken care of as we make this change."

Harmonix officially let go of 17 of its staff back in March 2017. It was later reported that up to 24 jobs had been affected overall, with this latest round of job losses bringing the year's total to 38.
