PG Connects Advent Day Two: Why The Brewery is PGC delegates' venue of choice

Second return to celebrated central London Connects conference spot will push space to its limits

PG Connects Advent Day Two: Why The Brewery is PGC delegates' venue of choice

We're kicking off December with a 'PGC London 2018 Advent Calendar'. Every day, an informative conference-related update (and, if we can manage it, with some fun snuck in).

Have we ever told you how much love The Brewery gets from our PGC London delegates? It's not quite verging on a 'you'll soon find related self-published fan fiction on Amazon' level but of all the places that have hosted our Connects conferences, this one consistently comes out top of the praise pile.

A mix of an abundance of character, easily accessible location, idiosyncratic layout, great selection of local amenities, a history haunted by ghostly tales (not really, just making sure you're still reading), all contribute towards making it a unique venue offering within the UK capital. So returning there for a third outing for next year's fifth PGC London (January 22nd to 23rd 2018) was never in question.

Until we tried to work out the logistics of fitting all of the content we have planned, that is.

Pocket Gamer Connects London 2018 will feature our largest agenda, with 12 tracks focusing on key issues core to the mobile games industry – Influencers, eSports, ICO/Blockchain, Indie Development & Strategy; Monetisation & User Acquisition; Industry Trends; Global Publishing; Funding & Investment; Local Talent & Success Stories; Practical Development Advice – as well as additional content such as Workshops and the top-tier Superstar Sessions.

Then there are the fringe events. From the Very Big Indie Pitch, SpeedMatch, and I Love Indie Showcase, to the usual Steel Media-powered fun evening networking options like the Global Connects Party (open to all PGC delegates). And then there's also the Mobile Games Awards.

All in all 2,000+ delegates will experience two days crammed with over 100 sessions, more than 120 speakers and over 5,500 scheduled meetings via our dedicated match-making system.

Oh, nearly forgot: we've also squeezed in partner conferences XR Connects and PC Connects (one ticket grants access to all three events).

And yet despite this monumental amount of activity, The Brewery has accommodated everything we've thrown at it.

What happens when we go bigger still next year? Bah, let's worry about that later.

With three boys under the age of 12, former Edge editor Joao has given up his dream of making it to F1 and instead spends his weekends transforming his living room floor into a venue for hosting increasingly complex Scalextric tracks. When in work mode, he looks after the production (aka the behind-the-scenes magic) of Steel Media's series of conferences.
