A group of former King employees have raised $2.2 million in a seed investment round to fund their new mobile games start-up Strange Quest.

The ex-King staff behind the company are Adam Schaub, Andreas Jirenius and Mille Trygg-Wiberg.

"Break new ground"

The developer plans to focus on creating multiplayer action games for mobile. The studio said it’s currently looking for experienced game dev talent to join the team.

The funding round was led by Initial Capital and Manta Ray, as well as Global Founders and three Swedish investors.

”Strange Quest aims to innovate and break new ground in the mobile games market,” said Strange Quest CEO Adam Schaub.

“We are convinced that there is an enormous future potential for synchronous multiplayer games on mobile and by creating frictionless products and combining them with innovative marketing strategies we intend to prove that thesis.”
