Monument Valley 2 wins Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards

Monument Valley 2 has won the accolade of Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards.

The puzzle title beat stiff competition in the shape of Fire Emblem Heroes, Super Mario Run, Old Man’s Journey and Hidden Folks.

London studio Ustwo’s latest game has won a string of plaudits since its release and a number of award nominations, including our very own Mobile Games Awards, which takes place in London on January 23rd.

Big winners

The Game Awards also dealt out a prize for Best Handheld Game, which went to Nintendo and MercuryStream’s Metroid: Samus Returns.

It pipped other shortlisted nominees Poochy and Yoshi’s Woolly World, Monster Hunter Stories, Ever Oasis and Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia.

Other notable award winners were Resident Evil 7: Biohazard for Best VR/AR Game, Guy Beahm (Dr. Disrespect) for Trending Gamer and jx3 HD for best Chinese game.
