Brazil’s Independent Games Festival opens submissions for 2018 developer awards

Brazil’s Big Independent Festival (BIG) has opened up submissions for the Best Independent Games International Awards.

  • Categories for this year’s awards are:
  • Best Game: International
  • Best Game: Latin America
  • Best Game: Brazil
  • Best Educational or Learning Game
  • Best in VR
  • Best in Sound
  • Best in Art
  • Best in Narrative
  • Best in Gameplay
  • Best in Innovation
  • Best Game: Popular Vote (as voted for by the public)

Some awards come with special prizes. For Best Game: International, each nominee is invited to send a representative for an expenses paid trip to the BIG Festival, plus a prize of just over $3,000.

Win BIG

Games that reach the list of finalists will be made available for the public to play at the BIG exhibition in Sao Paulo from June 23rd to July 1st.

Titles eligible can be made for any platform, including PC, mobile, tablets, virtual reality and console.

Last year PC game Overcooked, developed by UK studio Ghost Town Game, was named as the winner of both the Best Game and Best Gameplay awards.
