Critical Force snags $6.3 million in funding to scale esports operations for Critical Ops

Finnish mobile games developer Critical Force has raised over $6.3 million in funding.

The grant comes from Finnish public grant organization Business Finland and will be used to help scale an esports ecosystem for FPS game Critical Ops.

The funding will also be used to develop and deploy a scalable and automated production platform, which is designed to speed up the development of Critical Force’s games.

An analytics tools will also be built to support data-analysis of the games to support decision making.

Critical investments

Critical Ops has also racked up 40 million downloads since launching in beta back in 2015.

The games full release is planned for summer 2018.

“With the new funding we are happy to have the opportunity to really show our hands regarding our status as the number one developer of mobile esports FPS games,” said Critical Force CEO Veli-Pekka Piirainen.

“The news of the funding coincided beautifully with us reaching 40 million downloads as well as our very first Critical Ops live tournament in Seattle with $40.000 prize pool.”
