Dutch 3D tracking tech developer Xsens opens new office in Shanghai

3D motion tracking technology provider Xsens has opened a new office in Shanghai to support its growing business in China.

The Dutch firm creates a range of 3D tracking and animation tools and software, which have been used across film and games. Xsens technology has been behind motion capture processes at studios like Telltale Games and Avalanche Studios.

Now Xsens is continuing its push into China with a new office in Shanghai, a co-location with parent company mCube. This follows the opening of a regional support office in Hong Kong in 2018.

High tech

This new office will primarily handle engineering of new motion tracking technology alongside mCube, though it will also manage in-house and outsourced manufacturing facilities for Xsens’ partners.

Xsens hopes that this location will help cement its position in the APAC region.

“The Shanghai office will support the further growth of Xsens in China, which reflects the rapid growth of Xsens worldwide”, said Xsens general manager Boele de Bie.
