Social studio 6waves Lolapps has announced the departure of both CTO Brian Rue and CPO Arjun Sethi a week after the company unveiled a major restructuring exercise.
The two men leave following the news the firm is to lay off 80 percent of the staff working within its social networking division in a bid to focus on its publishing business.
"After more than four amazing years with Lolapps, I find it so hard to say goodbye to the team and to the impressive products that weve built together," said Sethi on his blog, adding his resignation was planned ahead of the layoffs.
Youll Rue this day!
The company came about as a result of a merger between Hong Kong-based 6waves and San Francisco studio Lolapps back in July, though speculation suggests the departure of both men is evidence the integration of the two firms hasn't been plain sailing.
Rue, however, chose to focus on his time with the company when detailing his departure, rather than discussing any internal politics.
"It's been a crazy ride of ups and downs and it feels very strange that its come to an end," he added in a blog post.
"I'm proud of the culture that we built, and it was especially evident this week as suddenly-former employees banded together to commiserate and find new companies to call home."
Rue added that he was interested in starting up another company but didn't state it would have anything to do with his past stating he wanted to "try something very different."
