Seeking developers and designers

Fishlabs Entertainment is currently seeking development and design staff to fill eight open positions at the Hamburg-based studio, and it's using the PocketGamer.biz jobs board to find them.

The positions on offer include game developer, multiplayer developer, UI designer and marketing/analytics developer.

Fishlabs is looking for candidates with industry experience and excellent technical knowledge, as well as the capacity to co-operate effectively with colleagues and teammates.

Tips from the top

As part of the PocketGamer.biz 'New Year, New Job' series, we recently spoke to Fishlabs' lead recruiter Marc Morian, and his advice to job seekers was to remember the fundamentals in your application.

"Submit a detailed, comprehensive and easy-to-read CV," Morian advised.

"Make sure your cover letter answers the key questions: Why games? Why mobile/browser/console etc.? Why this company? Why this particular job? Why you, not someone else? Why should we believe you can actually do the job? Relate your previous experience to the tasks outlined in the job ad!

"Also don't forget to research the company and play its games. Make sure people will get the impression that working with you will be a pleasant experience. Do all that and you'll be just fine."
