GetJar scoops exclusive launch for Cut the Rope on Android

Global base seals the deal

GetJar scoops exclusive launch for Cut the Rope on Android
In the battle between the various Android app stores, GetJar has managed to pick up a key exclusive: ZeptoLab's Cut the Rope.

This is the first appearance for the physics puzzler on Google's platform, having hit sales of 6 million within its first 16 weeks on iOS.

Rather than launching on Android Market or new found rival Amazon Appstore, however, the studio has plumped for GetJar, at least for a limited time period of exclusively.

The reason? According to GetJar itself, the marketplace has a greater presence in territories around the globe than its major rivals.

Global GetJar

"How did we get this exclusive? For one, we're global," the company said on its website.

"GetJar apps are available in almost 200 countries. Also, as a smaller company we're nimble, able to pivot.

"We've done some really creative stuff for them that larger companies can't do. We've done a teaser campaign on Twitter the resulted in hundreds of tweets and an articles."

Indeed, though Amazon hit the ground running with timed exclusives of its own, its Appstore isn't yet available outside of the US, leaving GetJar as Google's main competitor in most countries around the globe.
