Indiagames makes Windows Phone move as downloads top 100 million on Nokia Store
Mobile and online publisher UTV Indiagames has been unveiled as the first firm to hit 100 million downloads on the Nokia Store.

Company founder and CEI Vishal Gondal has claimed developing markets are lapping up localised content at a pace on the marketplace, with the firm's library proving popular in India in particular.

No knocking Nokia

"The Nokia Store experience is very easy to use now, so people can find great content," said Gondal of his firm's performance.

"Nokia has done a lot to grow the ecosystem, and here in India that’s very important. We’ve had a relationship with Nokia stretching back to 2003, and the company has given us tremendous support and interaction.

"Even [Nokia CEO] Stephen Elop has emailed to say he’s excited about hitting 100 million downloads."

A new window opens

So where do you go after topping 100 million downloads? According to Gondal, you go to Windows Phone.

Indiagames will be expanding its operations in order to launch its library on Microsoft's platform, with new titles also in development.

"Windows Phone is a mature platform for developers. It offers a very different experience for users, and that’s why although we’re adapting some of our existing games, we’re also developing new games from the ground up," said Gondal.

Indiagames's action and sports franchises will be first to hit the marketplace.
