Korean manufacturer LG has reacted angrily to an article published by the Korea Herald that claimed the firm had decided to drop support for Windows Phone in favour of Android.
In a response delivered to Pocket-lint, a spokesperson for the company claimed the story simply isn't true, stating the Korea Herald was "showing its speculative side again."
A matter of priorities
"We are still on board with Windows Phone," added the spokesperson, "but right now, we're focusing on Android because that's where the demand is."
The original Korea Herald report claimed LG had no plans to deliver any future handsets running Microsoft's OS, quoting the company as stating that the number of Windows Phone handsets it's been able to sell to date is "not a meaningful figure."
However, this updated comment from a company spokesperson suggested slow Windows Phone sales are not a major issue for the manufacturer right now.
"Regardless of which OS, LG is committed to offering consumers as wide a choice as possible," the spokesperson concluded.
