Nokia, Microsoft and Phones 4U launch 'Dare to Live' Windows Phone campaign in UK
Building on Microsoft's 'Smoked by Windows Phone' promotion in the US, the American giant has come together with Nokia and retail chain Phones 4U to unveil a similar push on British shores.

The new 'Dare to Live' venture pitches Windows Phone handsets up against Android and iOS devices in speed tests, as well as offering those that take part the opportunity to undertake 'wild' challenges, such as a reverse bungee jump or high rope course.

Speed trap

The campaign kicked off on 23 April, with organisers hitting the streets of London to challenge consumers to outpace a Nokia Lumia 800 when it comes to tasks such as checking someone's latest Facebook or Twitter status update.

All such activities are designed to make the most of Windows Phone's baked-in tools (just as in the US campaign), with those who manage to 'spank' the Lumia 800 offered £20 on the spot.

Losers are placated both by the offer to take part in an aforementioned wild activity, as well as a £100 cashback offer on a new Nokia Lumia 800 courtesy of Phones 4U.

Naturally, all three parties will be hoping the promo drives more traffic towards Lumia devices, as well as showcasing the platform's aptitude for a number of simple, socially minded tasks.

More details can be found on the Dare to Live Facebook page.
