Resident Evil tops N-Gage Quality Index for Q1 2009

But Nokia's platform is suffering from below-par titles

Resident Evil tops N-Gage Quality Index for Q1 2009
Capcom's Resident Evil: Degeneration has topped the PocketGamer.biz N-Gage Quality Index for Q1 2009, with an average review rating of 8.33 out of 10.

The Index aggregates review scores from the most popular websites covering N-Gage.

They include Pocket Gamer, All About N-Gage, NokNok, N-Gager, Pockett.net, ZOMG Its CJ and MeriStation.

The actual list of games reviewed three or more times during Q1 is pretty short though, given the N-Gage roadmap:

It's pretty clear that N-Gage needs some good games, and fast.

As part of the research for the Q1 Index, we've identified a mounting frustration on the part of reviewers at the quality of N-Gage games, and specifically on Java games being ported to N-Gage without many extra bells and whistles.

This may be a factor in games being scored more harshly - Real Football 2009, which will fall into the Q2 index, has had a critical kicking. All eyes will be on Nokia to see how it takes the platform forward.
