Flappy Bird clone is top of the Pebble Appstore

It might only possess a monochrome 144 × 168 pixel screen and have no sound, but people are still making games for the Pebble smartwatch.

These efforts have picked up in recent days as the release of SDK 2.0 includes support for an Pebble appstore for additional watchfaces, and apps and games.

More than time

Now available for iOS and Android devices - you can download up to eight apps to your phone and then sync across to the watch via Bluetooth - there are over 1,000 pieces of content available, and as there's no payment system, all of them are free.

Indeed, at GDC 2014, Pebble has announced the release of three new games; Mr Runner from Zing Games, Icon Pop Quiz from Alegrium, and Hatchi from Portable Pixels.

As for the most downloaded game from the Pebble appstore so far, that's Flappy Bird clone Tiny Bird.
