To tap into Appitalism

Mobile Streams launches Latin America-focused advertising subsidiary PublicAd
For developers, knowing which advertising platforms to plump for is a decision that's getting more and more complex as the months go by.

As well as existing networks expanding their offerings to give advertisers and developers alike more choice, fresh players – either from other areas of the mobile scene, or new entities entirely – are also making a move for those marketing dollars.

Mobile Streams, which is already behind app discovery platform Appitalism, is one such firm, announcing the launch of its wholly owned ad subsidiary PublicAd.

Spanish surge

The new network will be primarily aimed at the mobile market in Latin America, where Mobile Streams claims to be at its strongest.

Initial focus will deal with monetising the advertising inventory created by Mobile Stream's mobile internet services, as well as app centric offerings such as Appitalism.

"We are very excited to launch our PublicAd subsidiary as we believe that over time, advertising will be a significant new revenue stream and growth engine for Mobile Streams," said CEO Simon Buckingham.

"Our aim with Appitalism is be the leader in apps monetisation, whether the business model for those apps is premium, free or freemium. As such, the advertising revenues compliment and supplement our existing transactional premium revenue streams from paid apps."
