Kickstarter and its particular method of crowdfunding games has gained a lot more attention in the past week, given that Tim Schafer's Double Fine games has managed to rack up a pot of cash brimming well over the $400,000 it was initially looking for ($1.2 million at the time of writing).
Double Fine is far from the first project to utilise crowd funding though.
Six to Start managed to raise $72,627 from 3,464 backers, well over the $12,500 goal, in order to fund its augmented audio game Zombies, Run! for iOS and Android.

Zombies, Run! was recognised as the biggest videogame project on Kickstarter in 2011, though Double Fine has overtaken it by some margin. Schafer's team has proven the weight that a big name can lend to a project.
The game itself has now been completed and will be available soon, written by Naomi Alderman, an Orange Award-winning writer perhaps best known for her Doctor Who novel Borrowed Time.
The main focus of Zombies, Run! is, unsurprisingly given the title, running, though the implication of virtual item collection means that it's certainly worth checking out the video below to see it in action.
