To lead 'power shift' in mobile development

HTML5 specialist Ludei names appMobi co-founder Monastiero as president
CocoonJS creator Ludei has announced appMobi co-founder Joe Monastiero as its first ever company president.

Monastiero is set to take charge huge areas of the firm's business, including business strategy and planning, developing Ludei's revenue and profitability plan, funding initiatives, strategic partnerships, business models and product planning.

Mobile migration

Also falling under his control will be marketing and PR, with the aim being to pitch HTML5-to-smartphone tool CocoonJS as the platform to lead the "exploding migration" of casual games to mobile.

"Enhancing the HTML5 game experience is what Ludei does best," said Monastiero.

"In just a few short months, an army of game developers have turned to CocoonJS to help them deliver fully featured, high performance HTML5 games in a write-once, deploy-to-many environment.

"And we've only shown a glimpse of what’s behind the curtain."

An eye on an IPO

Interestingly, as well as co-founding appMobi – which went on to acquire 50,000 active developers – Ludei also points out that Monastiero has experience managing successful exits through mergers and acquisitions.

The company notes Monastiero prepared another company he co-founded, multimedia software specialist Intervideo, for its IPO.

"Joe brings to Ludei a vast wealth of experience across the mobile and game industries," added CEO and founder Eneko Knorr.

"As president of Ludei, Joe will have an immediate and significant impact on our partners, developers and publishers as they start to deploy HTML5 coding in their next generation mobile games."
