If your app is selected as the main feature in iTunes then you can pretty much charge whatever you want and people are going to buy it (especially if it also happens to be a fantastic game). So, yes, in this case $3 was the right price, and they probably could have even charged $5 and sold as many copies. It's no surprise that once the main feature ended it started to slide down the charts. The great thing is now they have plenty of room to discount and get it back up the charts.
