Date Type Companies Involved Size
Jun 2, 2016 acquisition Fiksu Not disclosed

In a move that underlines the maturing of mobile game advertising services, US marketing and data outfit Fiksu has been acquired.

The terms of the deal weren't disclosed and the way it's been described is rather odd.

"ClickDealer, a global performance marketing agency, has acquired the assets of Fiksu..." the statement goes.

ClickDealer is part of Noosphere, an international asset management firm based out of Silicon Valley.

It's also invested in social casino outfit Murka and the DevGAMM conference.

Talking to the Boston Globe, Fiksu's CEO Micah Adler pointed to the growing dominance of Facebook and Google in the mobile game advertising space.

That hit Fiksu's revenues, worth $100 million in 2014, resulting in layoffs in 2015.

In that context, the acquisition is based around the value of the company's history data - 26 trillion mobile data points - concerning game and app downloads, marketing costs and usage.

The monthly Fiksu App Store metrics have long been a staple of journalistic endeavour.

“ClickDealer is growing rapidly and we are constantly looking for opportunities to bring best-of-breed digital marketing services to the market," commented CEO Dmitry Atamanyuk.

"Fiksu is a natural fit for us as we enhance our mobile advertising capabilities and this acquisition will allow us to offer the most comprehensive suite of performance-based mobile advertising solutions."

As for Fiksu, Adler commented;

"I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built over these past 5 years and grateful to the entire team that has contributed - and excited about our transition into ClickDealer and Noosphere and driving the evolution and innovation of mobile advertising."
