Metaflow opens up B2B marketplace for indies and adds Android support

Key to any independent developer's longterm survival is its ability to get its titles on as many marketplaces as possible. Yet dedicating the man hours and money needed to distribute apps across the globe is often out of reach.

Hence news that UK content submissions specialist Metaflow has opened up its business to independent developers should come as welcome relief, with the firm having delivered 50 million app builds to more than 400 sales channels to date.

All for one

Metaflow runs a B2B marketplace that targets more than 60 operator and D2C sales channels, and it's recently added support for Android Marketplace too.

Its set-up allows developers to upload their apps once yet feature on multiple marketplaces, with Metaflow taking care of promotion and distribution.

Metaflow has been providing said service for the bigger boys for some time but its set-up should prove even more valuable to independent outfits, where both time and money are at a premium.

"As an independent developer and publisher, direct and cost-efficient routes to sales channels, operators and end-users, is vital," says Mitri Bautista-Wilberg, CEO of latest Metaflow signee Polarbit.

"By integrating Metaflow submissions and B2B marketplace solutions into the workflow of Fuse, our development platform, we take one step further towards making it a one-stop, fully device and channel independent handheld game development and deployment solution."

Indeed, Metaflow's marketplace has the potential to extend the reach of the average independent studio to that of a major mobile publisher, with the likes of EA Mobile, Zed, Glu, Connect2Media, Fox Mobile and THQ already on board.
