Glu Mobile’s Design Home welcomes one million daily active users

Revenues remain strong in new flagship game for publisher

Glu Mobile’s Design Home welcomes one million daily active users

Glu Mobile’s interactive interior design app Design Home has reached one million daily active users.

The title was launched worldwide in November 2016 and by the end of June 2017 had racked up 25.5 million downloads and $41.4 million in bookings.

$22.5 million of that came in Q2 2017 as Glu doubled down on user acquisition spend. As a result a successful UA campaign and the game’s popularity, Design Home represented 27% of Glu’s total bookings.

It has also become a regular on the US top 30 grossing games charts on the App Store and top 40 on Google Play.

Perfect partner

Design Home was developed by Crowdstar, which Glu acquired a controlling stake in for $45.5 million in November 2016. The studio’s other game, Covet Fashion, continues to generate more than $10 million per quarter.

The purchase has helped propel Glu’s revenues upwards and paints a rosier picture in the publisher’s bid to return to profitability.

“Since launch, Design Home has captivated a large, global audience, many of whom don't normally consider themselves traditional gamers,” said Glu CEO Nick Earl.

“We’ve invested significantly in building the user base for this title and we’re delighted to be seeing the return on that investment. I’m incredibly proud of the highly engaging content our team continues to deliver for players and look forward to Design Home’s continued success."
