Virtuos hires ex-Crytek Executive Producer Elijah Freeman as new Group Development Director

Outsourcing firm Virtuos has hired former Crytek Executive Producer and Game Director Elijah Freeman as its new Group Development Director.

Freeman will provide creative direction for the company's game division, and will be work out of its headquarters in Shanghai.

Freeman's credits at Crytek include VR games The Climb and Robinson: The Journey. He has also held senior roles at EA and CCP in his 15 years in the games industry.

A diverse team

"As we expand our game development capabilities globally, Virtuos continues to build a diverse world-class team of professionals with relevant experience and unique skillsets," said Gilles Langourieux, CEO of Virtuos.

"Elijah Freeman brings tremendous knowledge from his tenure producing triple-A titles with Crytek, CCP Games and Electronic Arts. We look forward to seeing how he will further shape our development roadmap and continue building out teams with a high standard of excellence."

Virtuos recently made inroads into the mobile games industry by opening a new studio in Paris focused solely on mobile game design. It is headed up by ex-Kobojo exec Jean-Baptiste Fleury.
