Wandoujia social-integrated match-3 Happy Pop does 2.4 million downloads

It seems that WeChat isn't the only social network in town when it comes to the Chinese mobile games market.

The May report from fast-rising mobile search engine/Android app store Wandoujia highlights the power of its own social layer.

The most downloaded game on the app store was the Wandoujia-integrated social version of Happy Element's match-3 Happy Pop.

It's been downloaded 2.4 million times over the past 60 days, and has seen higher daily active players compared to other versions of the game that don't have the social layer.

As you can see from the screenshots below, it uses a similar mechanic to King's Saga games to highlight your Wandoujia friends' progress in a map screen.
