Summoners War and Ace Fishing push Com2uS' FY14 Q3 sales up 102% to $85 million

Korean mobile game publisher Com2uS (KOSDAQ:078340) has announced its FY14 Q3 financials, the three month period ending 30 September 2014.

Revenue was $84.6 million, up 102 percent quarter-on-quarter and 438 percent year-on-year.

Net profit was $39.9 million, 192 percent quarter-on-quarter and 3,165 percent year-on-year.

Growth spurts

This performance was powered by domestic and international success, particularly from key titles such as RPG Summoners War, which has now received 20 million downloads, and Ace Fishing.

International (non-Korean) sales made up 80 percent of total revenues, rising 806 percent year-on-year.

Com2uS key international territory is Asia Pacific - notably Japan, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong - which makes up 60 percent of its international sales. North America is 20 percent and Europe 15 percent.

Korean sales were up 106 year-on-year to $17 million.

Lessons learned

Com2uS says it will be building on its success as it releases a broader portfolio of titles in Q4, including games in the RPG, baseball, and casual/social network categories.

"Using the knowledge and expertise gained through the success of Summoners War, we've developed a number of exciting new games," added Lee Yong Guk, Com2uS' CFO.

"We expect to drive discovery to these new titles by leveraging our global user base, thereby effectively securing our position as a leader in mobile games."
