Snail Games expands its mobile game distribution with Taichi Panda

Chinese gaming publisher and telecom provider Snail Games made its first major step in the mobile gaming market recently with the release of its latest title Taichi Panda, which is now available in regions around the globe for iOS and Android.

Taichi Panda is an adventure role-playing game with an action play style.

Building on Snail's experience in the development of online and massively multiplayer PC gaming, the game features multiplayer options, allowing players to interact and coordinate play in real-time across mobile networks.

"Taichi Panda has already reached significant success in Asia - hitting the #1 spot on iOS in China, and leading the charts across Asia for top grossing games," says Jim Tsai, VP of Snail Games USA.

"Now, we look to bring this success story to markets in North America, Europe and beyond, and to get our foothold for future titles - mobile and otherwise - to launch globally."

Released for both Android and iOS across regions including the US, UK and continental Europe on 26th March, Taichi Panda has been well-received by fans and critics alike.

Taichi Panda has made significant strides towards the Top Grossing spot on the Google Play store.

The game has reached a number of notable milestones for both iOS and Android.

Within just two weeks of release, Taichi Panda has reached the Top 10 New Free Games on Google Play in most regions, including US (5th), Germany (5th), and UK (8th), as well as reaching the Top 100 Grossing Apps on the App Store throughout its released regions.

Taichi Panda has also made significant strides towards the Top Grossing spot on the Google Play store.

As the graph below illustrates, as of April 4th, Taichi Panda was in the Top 50 for Grossing on the Google Play store in Canada, Great Britain, and France among others, reaching #62 in the US.

For iOS, the game has reached the top of the charts for Top Grossing in a number of countries, including #56 for the heated USA market.

App Store Top Grossing - Sweden, Finland, Denmark

Since release, Taichi Panda almost immediately rocketed to the top grossing spot in Sweden, hitting the #5 spot after just a week. On the same day, it made it to the #12 top grossing in Norway. In Denmark, the game has been steadily rising, reaching #44 at its highest.

In the UAE, Taichi Panda has seen consistent increases, lately reaching the #10 top grossing spot.

App Store Top Grossing - Portugal, Spain

In Iberia, Taichi Panda has reached the #13 top grossing spot in Portugal, while hitting #27 in Spain.

In Germany, the game has reached #64 at its highest in the grossing charts.

The English have in recent days seen a consistent increase, hanging around the high end of the Top Grossing, and reaching #29 at its top.

Snail Games has hinted at future titles set to follow Taichi Panda, with two specific names mentioned for 2015 release: King of Wushu, an upcoming martial-arts themed Multiplayer Online Battle Arena game for PC, PS4 and mobile (currently available in beta in China); and a new mobile version of popular PC-based title Age of Wushu.

Snail has suggested both titles will appear at the E3 2015 show in Los Angeles this summer.
