Estonian game accelerator GameFounders prepares for Malaysian program with regional tour

Estonian game accelerator GameFounders is going east.

It's announcing it's extending its operations by opening an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in the fall.

This is happening with support from MDeC, a Malaysian government agency.

And in the meantime, it's going to be sampling the quality of game developers in southeast Asia with its so-called Big Asia Tour.

Partnering with Unity for the 3-week event, it will be holding shows and spreading the word about how it does business in: Johor Bahru, Penang & Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia; Jakarta (Indonesia), Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam), Manila (Philippines), Tokyo (Japan); and Bangkok (Thailand).

Apply now

In terms of applications for the new office, they close on 20 June.

Applying teams are expected to have beta version, prototype or demo rail of their project, and also to be ready to set up a business.

"We are very excited about our Big Asia Tour since we will get to experience first-hand the world's fastest growing game market and meet amazing local developers face-to-face," said Kadri Ugand, GameFounders' CEO.

"We have had many applications from Asia already before and know the talent pool in this region is huge."

More info and registration to the meetups, which run from 22 May to 11June is available at http://www.gamefounders.com/bigasiatour.
