HTML5 engine PlayCanvas has plunged into the Japanese market, holding hands with internet services leader GMO Cloud.

The new partnership means that GMO Cloud will be the exclusive reseller for PlayCanvas technology in Japan, and accepts full responsibility for accelerating the country’s adoption of the engine.

Going East

In preparation for the launch, GMO Cloud have translated all of PlayCanvas’s resources into Japanese and set up a developer support network.

GMO Cloud’s CEO Mitsuru Aoyama said in a statement “After much due diligence, it was clear that PlayCanvas is the leading solution to craft beautiful interactive experiences for every platform and will serve creative and development professionals in a wide variety of fields including gaming, advertising and architecture.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer PlayCanvas to the Japanese market.”
