Korean free-to-play publisher Nexon has announced a strategic partnership with Sansho Studios - its first ever with a Japanese game developer.

The Japanese startup was founded in 2014, and includes team members who previously led development on the likes of Resident Evil and Monster Hunter at Capcom.

Pedigree

There's also a wealth of mobile gaming expertise at Sansho Studios, which is what Nexon will be looking to leverage going forward.

The Korean firm's target is to be the best partner for Japanese developers, and it has more partnerships with Japanese developers planned.

More to come

"We are excited to partner with Sansho Studios’ outstanding development team, which marks our first-ever strategic partnership with a Japanese game developer," said Kihan Kim, manager of the Mobile Business Division at Nexon.

"We believe that this partnership will be successful for both companies and represents the beginning of additional partnerships with prominent Japanese game developers."

"Nexon plans to launch more than one mobile game per month to the Japanese market in the second half of 2016 and will continue to partner with talented game developers in Japan to provide high-quality Japanese games to users all over the world."
