More people in Japan have played Pokemon GO than any other mobile game, according to a survey from Famitsu reported on by The Asahi Shimbun.
The survey asked respondents which mobile games they had played or spent money on. 13,000 valid responses were received.
Pokemon GO was the most played game, beating out Japan mainstays such as GungHo's Puzzle & Dragons and Mixi's Monster Strike.
Face the facts
That said, the survey doesn't stand up to much scrutiny. 13,000 is only a small portion of Japan's 127 million population overall, for starters.
And while Pokemon GO may have had more players than any other game, it doesn't mean it's retaining or monetising them.
The game continues to struggle in Japan's top grossing charts compared to its performance in other regions.
