Monster Strike clears 40 million downloads following launch in China

Mixi has released its financials for its Q2 FY18 for the three months ending September 30th 2017.

It posted revenues of $396.9 million for the quarter, up 14.5% year-on-year. Profits also grew by 22.9% year-on-year to $100.7 million for the quarter.

Breaking this down further, its Entertainment segment, which includes its mobile games, generated $363.7 million in revenues.

Still striking

Monster Strike remained Mixi's main focus, with a series of events run both in the real world and in-game. This included a two-day festival, the final round of its Monster Strike Grand Prix 2017 Championship, and a summer campaign held in the game.

Mixi also launched Monster Strike in Mainland China in August 2017. This has helped the game finally reach 40 million downloads worldwide, a figure it was close to in its previous financials.

Looking ahead, Mixi is gearing up for the fourth anniversary of the launch of Monster Strike. This will include two competitions with prize pools of $2.6 million (¥300 million), and a major promotion in Shibuya.
