CyberAgent revenues hit $899 million but games business stays flat for sixth consecutive quarter

CyberAgent has released its financials for its Q1 FY18 for the three months ending December 31st 2017.

The company posted revenues of $898.9 million for the quarter, up 13.1% year-on-year. Profits also increased for the quarter, growing 78.1% to $21.7 million.

Its Game Business segment reported revenues of $309.6 million for the quarter, down 2.7% year-on-year. Operating income for the segment also fell 12.6% to $51.8 million.

Fairly flat

CyberAgent noted that its games business has stayed relatively flat for six quarters in a row. It is hoping to grow the business with new games and third-party IP, all while maintaining its existing games.

Looking ahead, it is hoping to draw in money from the fourth anniversary of Granblue Fantasy and first anniversary of its most recent hit, BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!. It is also set to launch Princess Connect! Re:Drive and Sengoku Asura some time during its FY18.

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! cleared four million downloads back in October 2017. It was pushed out to Southeast Asia after passing the milestone, where it became a top 100 grossing game in Taiwan and Macau on Android.
