Tencent makes E3 debut, partners with ESL and Razer to host Arena of Valor tournament

Tencent has partnered up with esports company ESL and games hardware provider Razer to host an Arena of Valor tournament dubbed The Valor Series at E3.

The Valor Series is the culmination of weekly regional tournaments that have been held over the past two months, which were used to determine the top four teams from both North America and Europe.

The finals will be streamed online and will take place at the E3 ESL Arena from June 12th to 13th in Los Angeles.

The winners will go on to compete in the Arena of Valor World Cup in Los Angeles this July to battle for a prize pool of $550,000.

"Tencent is committed to supporting and growing the mobile esports community by leveraging structured esports competition on both a local and large scale," said Tencent America director of esports Ramon Hermann.

"The Valor Series playoffs showcase the absolute best in mobile esports, as Arena of Valor offers gamers a fast-paced, competitive multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) experience without compromise."

ESL North America CEO Yvette Martinez-Rea added: "ESL focuses on delivering the best esports experiences globally both online and via live events. We are proud to work alongside Tencent to bring fans the highest level of mobile esports competition and host the Valor Series finals in front of such a valuable gaming audience at E3."

Update: Performance wear provider H4X.gg has joined the Valor Series as lead apparel sponsor.

As the clothing sponsor for the Valor Series playoffs, H4X.gg will outfit the shoutcasters with branded apparel and supply co-branded merchandise for on-stage giveaways.
