Weekly global mobile game charts: Supercell's Clash of Clans shuffles up the top grossing rankings

To give our readers better insight into the global mobile games industry we’ve teamed up with market data firm Sensor Tower to bring you brand new, exclusive weekly charts from key countries.

These rank games by free downloads, paid downloads and the top grossers across the App Store and Google Play. Each week we’ll be covering the US, Great Britain and Ireland, and China (iOS only) markets.

This week's charts cover the period from September 24th to 30th.

US charts

There wasn't a whole lot of change in the US charts for the week of September 24th and 30th.

Playgendary's Bouncemasters was the only new entry in the download rankings across either store, while Snake Vs Colors and Happy Glass held top spots on the App Store and Google Play respectively.

Of more significant note was Clash of Clans' rise up the top grossing charts, moving from ninth the week prior to third on the App Store, and breaking back into Google Play's top 10 to take fourth place.

Great Britain and Ireland charts

It was a good week for Voodoo in Great Britain and Ireland as it claimed the top three App Store free download rankings with Wind Rider, Paper.io 2 and Tornado.io.

Overall it had six games in the App Store top 10 and three in the Google Play top 10.

Epic's Fortnite reclaimed top spot on the App Store top grossing chart, moving above Candy Crush Saga and Roblox as season six hit.

Much like on the US marketplaces, Supercell's Clash of Clans was on an upward trajectory, moving up from ninth to fourth on the App Store and ninth to fifth on Google Play.

China charts

The hottest game in China right now is NetEase's brand new title God Night. It rose up the free downloads rankings to top spot for the week, up from second when it first entered the chart the week prior.

It's not been quite enough to unseat Tencent's Honor of Kings and another NetEase title, Fantasy Westward Journey, from the top two spots on the grossing chart however, coming up behind in third place.

Newcomers to the top 10 grossing rankings were Fate/Grand Order, which flew into fifth spot, and Aligames' One Piece BW in eighth.
