The best mobile games of 2008 revealed

Rally Master Pro tops the PocketGamer.biz Quality Index

The best mobile games of 2008 revealed
Fishlabs's Rally Master Pro was the best mobile game of 2008, according to the PocketGamer.biz Quality Index, which tracks ratings on key mobile game review websites.

The 3D racer's average score was a hugely impressive 9.43 out of 10, as it was acclaimed across the board for its slick action, cutting-edge graphics, and innovative connectivity.

It was one of three Fishlabs titles inside the Top 20, along with Snowboard Hero (equal third) and Powerboat Challenge (14th). Gameloft has five titles in the Top 20, while fierce rival EA Mobile has three, and Glu Mobile has one.

To qualify for inclusion, a game had to be reviewed by at least three of the websites tracked by PocketGamer.biz - which include Pocket Gamer, IGN Wireless, AirGamer, Mobile Game FAQs, Handy-Player, JeuxPo and MobileXP.

We'll be running a separate story later today on the most disappointing titles according to the Quality Index, as well as revealing the top publishers for 2008 as a whole.
