As has been proved many times in the past, ad networks hold a lot of information about how users interact with services, and that's particularly true when it comes to mobile ad networks.
Still, ad mediation provider inneractive is happy to share some of its learnings. Its latest white paper details the dos and don't of the industry based on the platforms and games that currently get the best results.
No knocking Nokia
The report's stand-out findings suggest it's Nokia, rather than iPhone and Android, that currently enjoys the highest click-through rates (CTR) - something also demonstrated by figures from ad mediation company Smaato.
Between January and March, Nokia platforms enjoyed a CTR of 3 percent or more, placing it ahead of all the competition.
"Generally speaking, Nokia devices generate a higher CTR than Apple or Android phones," the firm says in its report.
"BlackBerry has the lowest CTR across the board, and seems to remain pretty static, while CTR on iPhone and Android is growing."
Big in the USA
Inneractive also details the game genres that enjoy the most click-throughs and eCPM (effective cost per thousand impressions).
"Categories such as brain and puzzles, and entertainment have an eCPM of $3 and up, even reaching close to $5 eCPM."
When it comes to percentage of ad requests, arcade and action games win out, with a 24 percent share. They're also one of the top categories in five regions, including the US, France, Russia, India and Vietnam.
In general, fill rate is strongest in the US, though Russia enjoys the highest CTR and Brazil the greatest eCPM at $3.60.
You can download the report in PDF form from inneractive's website.
