Following the success of our Big Indie Pitches, we’re again bringing our even bigger and better version to the PG Connects schedule.

The Very Big Indie Pitch will be exactly what it says on the tin: a mammoth developer pitching competition open to all types of independent developers working on mobile, VR, wearables, or handheld games, wherever they are.

Who? What?

Kicking off with a preliminary round of submissions between October and December to identify the best talent (and allow overseas developers a chance to be shortlisted), we’ll then progress to the face-to-face pitch on Day 1 (Monday 18th January 2016) of the conference.

As usual this means gathering a host of leading mobile game journalists in one room, together with partner sponsors from the publishing and middleware sector, and then allowing the devs 4 minutes to pitch to each journalist table in a ‘speed dating’ style.

Once all the developers have pitched, the journos confer and pick five finalists. These will spend Day 2 (Tuesday 19th January) showcasing their game to PGC delegates who will vote for their favourite. The finalists will subsequently take turns to 'pitch' their game to the audience at the end of Day 2 before the winners from the vote are announced on stage.

New for this time around is a VR-only VBIP pitching session on Day 2. This enables VR developers to compete on a level playing field (as we recognise playing/set up times are different to non-VR formats). Simply register your game in the normal way and we'll be in touch with specifics.

Profile and prizes

Aside from the chance to get their game in front of the leading media influencers and potential publisher partners, this VERY Big Indie Pitch will also reward the top developers with a share of a promotional prize package worth $thousands.

Amazon Prize:

1st place: FireTV & game controller
2nd: Amazon Fire Table
