Quality Index: The week's best iPhone games – Terra Noctis, Lumi for iPhone / iPod Touch
Every week, Pocket Gamer sister site Quality Index (Qi) highlights the newest games to make a critical splash in the cool, seductive waters of the iOS pool.

Grabbing scores and opinions from all corners of the web, including from 148Apps, AppGamer, and TouchMyApps, Qi answers all your iPhone-related questions before you've even asked them.

Today, we're going to focus on two new contenders vying to be crowned king of your iPhone. Both are worthy, but do they have what it takes to win your head, your heart, and your wallet?

Terra-fic

Sleepwalking its way into the #3 spot this morning with a 9.3 Qi rating is the cutesy / frightening platformer Terra Noctis.

This retro charmer features a nightmare creature called Allen, who is just too lovely to effectively put the frighteners on people.

Kicked out of nightmare school for being too darn sweet, he must learn how to be scary from the nastiest nightmares he can find.

With an attractive hand-drawn art style, a haunting soundtrack, and over 30 stages to explore, Terra Noctis is a nightmare you won't want to wake from.
148Apps agrees, stating that "It's beautiful to look at and listen to, but it's also just plain fun to play."

Light my fire

Lighting up the Quality Index chart in 5th position, meanwhile, comes Lumi for iPhone / iPod Touch, a colourful creation that merges physics puzzles with platform elements to produce some addictive results.

Using the touchscreen to move, drag, and slingshot Lumi through the environment, you will master light and magnetism to expel darkness from the land.

Boasting ten sumptuously stylish levels, a variety of locations (ranging from lush jungles to the gloomy Netherworld), and Game Centre support, Lumi for iPhone / iPod Touch will draw you in like a moth to a flame.

And with a host of new levels and game modes in store for upcoming updates, the future is very bright indeed for Lumi.

You can get the up-to-date information about which games are reviewing best over at the Quality Index.
