While the house that BlackBerry built would end the week bowing to shareholder pressure by granting an investigation into the roles of co-CEOs Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsille, just hours before it had claimed that everything within the company was fine and dandy.

Said response had been drawn after an unnamed high level executive published an open letter ripping the state of RIM's business to shreds. In reply, RIM dismissed any issues as nothing more than 'transitional problems', claiming its financial situation is nowhere near as dour as some haved painted it.

GameHorizon 2011: The return per man-month from Infinity Blade is the same as Gears of War reveals Epic's Mark ReinSpeaking during a fireside chat with UK studio ustwo's Mills, Epic's Mark Rein revealed Infinity Blade on iOS has generated $11.2 million net income.

More interesting, however, was the news that, taking into account the game's $2 million budget and the 12-man team behind it, Infinity Blade's income is comparable to that of Gears of War when calculated on a return per man-month invested basis.

"Since we launched IAP in Infinity Blade, it accounts for about 45 percent of our revenue," Rein added. "We make more money on the $20 IAP gold pack than from the $1 gold pack."

TouchPad not designed to dethrone iPad, says HP's Richard Kerris"We think the world of Apple and have the utmost respect for their products," said HP's Richard Kerris when questioned on TouchPad's chances of eating into iPad's market leading share. "It would be ignorant for us to say that we are going to take it [the market] away from Apple.”

Instead, Kerris claimed, TouchPad can survive without taking iPad's crown thanks to the wireless syncing options afforded by webOS - a feature Apple can't boast until iOS 5 rolls out.



"We're the tablet that when you take it out of the box it doesn't ask you to connect to something to get started,” he concluded.

Sony signs up Novarama to deliver augmented reality games for PS VitaCompleting Sony's sweep of the top spots was news that the firm has signed up Invizimals developer Novarama to work exclusively on PS Vita.

The Spanish studio, which previously worked on both PSP and Nintendo DS, will focus on delivering AR software for the handheld, beginning with Reality Fighters.
