• 5 Eve: War of Ascension mobile game enters soft launch in the Philippines

  

  Eve: War of Ascension has hit the Philippines through soft-lunch.

  The PlayRaven-developed MMO game is currently available on Android and is based on the popular CCP licence. It represents the Eve franchise’s first foray into the mobile market.

  Staying true to the series formula Eve: War of Ascension tasks players with conquering outposts and taking control of regions of space.

  Unity revealed that it is moving its entire infrastructure to Google Cloud at Unite Berlin 2018 as part of a new partnership with the search engine giant.

  Unity went on to claim that it would let developers “benefit from Google Cloud’s openness, security, scalability and innovation through data”.

  “Migrating our infrastructure to Google Cloud was a decision made based on the company’s impressive global reach and product quality,” said Unity CEO John Riccitiello.

  “Now, Unity developers will be able to take advantage of the unparalleled capabilities to support their cloud needs at a global scale.”

  
  

• 3 Lineage M breaks $1.2 billion in revenue a year after release

  

  NCSoft’s MMO Lineage M has pulled in more than $1.2 billion in revenue since launching in June of last year.

  On top of that, it has also reportedly become the most popular app in both the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store in several countries including Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

  It caps off a fine year for the title, It is thought to have generated more than $233 million in revenue during its first month.

  It is also said to have contributed massively to the $894.7 million made from NCSoft's mobile games business in 2017.

  
  

• 2 Report: Tencent set to acquire 10% of PUBG developer Bluehole for $500 million

  

  Chinese internet big hitter Tencent is reportedly close to acquiring 10 per cent of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds developer Bluehole.

  It was previously reported that the deal will be worth over $500 million and could end up valuing the South Korean games developer north of $5 billion.

  It was also reported that the sale is not intended to raise capital for Bluehole but instead is a chance for early investors to cash out on shares.

• 1 “It only took two days to get Shadowgun Legends on Nintendo Switch”

  

  Madfinger took to Unite Berlin to reveal that its latest free-to-play shooter Shadowgun Legends is headed to Nintendo Switch.

  On top of that it took just two days to port, according to studio CEO Marek Rabas. 

  The ambition for the latest instalment in the Shadowgun franchise doesn't stop there as it is also set to bring co-op action to 200 levels.

  Often compared to Destiny for its space shooter vibe, Shadowgun Legends is currently available on iOS and Google Play.
