Storm8 hires ex-Zynga pair to boost creativity and operations

F2P social mobile gaming outfit Storm8 is beefing up its executive ranks

The Redwood City outfit has announced that Tim LeTourneau, previously of EA/Maxis where he spend 20 years working on The Sims franchise, will become chief creative officer.

Steve Parkis, previously of Disney, becomes president of games and network.

Prior to joining Storm8 both LeTourneau and Parkis also worked at Zynga, where they led the division that included the mobile and web development of FarmVille.

Experience injection

The move is a significant one for Storm8, which to-this-point has preferred to run its studio in a more organic manner in terms of hires.

"Since our founding nearly six years ago, our goal has been to build the largest mobile games network by delivering the highest-quality mobile gaming experiences to players around the world," said Storm8 CEO and co-founder Perry Tam.

"The expansion of our executive team underscores our commitment to this mission and further accelerating Storm8's trajectory. Tim and Steve's combined creative and operational leadership bring us the tandem skill set required to take Storm8 to our next stage of growth."
