Canadian startup Icejam raises $2.1 million to accelerate Playable Data vision

Canadian startup Icejam has raised $2.1 million (CAD$3 million) in its seed round.

The investment was lead by Build Ventures, with its general partner Patrick Keefe joining Icejam's board of directors.

All systems go

Based in Charlottetown, Icejam is looking to disrupt the mobile free-to-play games business by integrating real-time data within its live operations.

It's an approach it labels Playable Data.

The investment will be used for its debut title, due later in 2016, and to open a new studio focused on marketing and business intelligence in Toronto.

Icejam is now hiring aggressively in both locations. You can see a list of open vacancies here.
