The head of Rovio's Stockholm studio Oskar Burman has resigned.

"I've resigned from Rovio - but can't speak yet of the next step in my journey. @pottan will be stepping in as acting-GM for the studio," he tweeted.

Burman set up Rovio's Swedish studio - its first outside Finland - in 2012.

Build up into a team of over 25 - who Burman calls "one of the sharpest mobile game teams in the industry" - it developed Angry Birds 2, as we found out in a recent studio profile.

Burman also highlights the studio's inclusive culture; it's over 25% female.

As for the future, as stated, creative director Patrick Liu (@pottan) steps into the GM role, while Burman will be involved in the Stugan accelerator, which takes place in the summer.
